Job Description


RPC company has partnered with an accounting firm in search on a Staff Accountant to join their team in Sherman, TX.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of tax & accounting experience, possess an accounting degree or actively pursuing degree and have great attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.

Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel a PLUS!

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare business and individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software to record and maintain financial transactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, verifying the accuracy of transactions and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Record General Journal and Payroll entries, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, ensuring precision in financial reporting.
  • Multi-task and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines, efficiently managing multiple tax and accounting projects simultaneously.
  • Utilize proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel to enhance productivity and streamline processes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or actively pursuing an accounting degree.
  • Proven experience in tax preparation and accounting practices.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, with the ability to leverage software capabilities for efficient data management and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
