Job Description
Job Details:
Accountant will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, and presenting material in an efficient manner. This individual will also be responsible for reconciling financial discrepancies, analyzing accounting options, and preparing financial reports through collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends, and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
Monthly Journal Entries and Financial Reporting
Analyzing and Reconciling General Ledger and Subledger Accounts
Monthly Accruals and Allocations
Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
Maintains accounting controls by updating current procedures and assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures including system requirements and internal controls
Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
Assisting in yearly Internal Audit
Fixed Asset Management
Cash Projection, daily cash log
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
Maintains financial security by following internal controls
Researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
State sales tax compliance and reporting
Ad Hoc analysis and reporting
Other projects as directed by CFO or Controller
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Knowledge of reporting procedures and SFAS & GAAP
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer and analytical skills
Proficiency in accounting
5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a Construction Environment
