FT FLOAT PHLEBOTOMIST - OPENING

Established, patient-care based clinic currently has a Full-time (FT), permanent FLOAT opening for an experienced, professional Phlebotomist (CPT preferred) to join our healthcare team in Chattanooga- Mon to Fri, 40 hours/week guaranteed!

*As an independent phlebotomist, we are needing a professional Phleb with strong work/Travel ethic to be able to float mostly in the Chattanooga area, but may be needed to Travel to any site (all travel accommodations are booked & paid for) to draw blood, venipuncture, drop offs to label for lab testing, etc.

Offering immediate benefits after starting, and will join as a permanent member of our tight-knit team after training

SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8a-5p (FT, 40 hours/week guaranteed)

Start (Week of training): 1 or 2 weeks post Offer (all training per diem paid for)

PAYRANGE$19.29/hr - $22/hr -- with immediate Benefits (*Pay is granted Based on Experience - The more you have, the better!)
  • Need professional Phleb with strong work ethic & Float/Travel experience
  • Confident in blood draw, venipuncture, fast-paced environments
  • Collecting specimens, slides, labels & drop offs
  • CPT preferred 
  • *At least 2+ years of experience required at current role as a Phleb

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Medical training as MA preferred 
  • At LEAST 2+ years of current & prior experience as a Phlebotomist
  • Must have reliable transportation (FLOAT) and communication
  • Proof of Auto-insurance required 
  • Valid Driver's License (good driving record)
  • CPT Certification preferred (not required)
  • Overnight stays may be required (all hotel/accommodations will be paid-for, if so)

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greets customers appropriately, treat all customers in a courteous manner.
  • Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on-time.
  • Collects specimens according to established procedures- Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. Urine or fecal) as required. Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after the collection process.
  • Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
  • Completes requisitions accurately.
  • Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer. Requires attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.E. Diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
  • Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.
  • Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Package specimens for transport. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
  • Maintains required records and documentation;Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment.
  • Utilizes time appropriately. Capable of maintaining fluctuating patient flow.
  • Displays courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers - communicates with co-workers and clients in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
  • Performs duties in independent manner.
  • Contributes to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department and company.
  • Utilizes proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure patient/personal safety, exercises all laboratory safety precautions and adheres to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals
