Job Description
Attention Certified Medical Assistants!
Essential Skills:
Manages patient rooming to efficiently meet daily appointment schedules
Reviews presenting issue, visit history, orders, and updates EMR appropriately
Assist physician or AP with exams
Fluent in medical terminology & medication refill protocols
Manages incoming and outgoing phone calls
Obtains vital signs and preps patient for provider
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Works efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, clinic environment
Appropriately escalates issues outside of existing protocols to meet the needs of the patient
Follows all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates
Schedules appointments and queries clinical information from the EMR (e-Clinical Works)
Meets performance and service level criteria as defined in Performance Metrics
Works well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment Qualifications:
1-3 years related experience, preferably in a Primary Health Care setting
Certified Medical Assistant must be active and current
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Experienced in properly handling confidential and sensitive information; knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems
