MEDICAL CODER - FT - Tucson, AZ
Medical Health Coder
Established, award-winning healthcare organization currently has openings for an experienced Medical Coder to join our team permanently full-time in Tucson - Coding Specialist responsible for translating medical reports and documentation into standardized codes used for billing, insurance claims, and data management utilizing ICD-10, CPT & HCPCS. Certified Professional Coder (CPT) Certification REQUIRED *Nicotine-free facility*

��KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) for diagnoses.
o CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) for procedures.
o HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) for services and equipment.

- Shift: Mon to Fri, 8a-5p (FT 40 hrs/wk)
- Pay: $20.19/hr - $24/hr Granted Based on Experience
- Start: 2 weeks (July)
- Training: ~2 months (must be able to complete training @ Craycroft area)
��REQUIREMENTS & Qualifications:
- Certificate, associate’s degree, or Medical Coding
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification –AAPC
- Knowledge of anatomy & medical terminology
- ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS
- EMR/EHR systems (Epic & Athena preferred)
- Understanding of healthcare billing and compliance e.G., HIPAA
- Non-smoker (nicotine free facility)
��KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing clinical documents (e.G., physician notes, lab results, operative reports).
- Assigning standardized codes via ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Ensuring coding accuracy for proper reimbursement.
- Preventing fraud and ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
- Working with providers and billing staff to resolve discrepancies.
o ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) for diagnoses.
o CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) for procedures.
o HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) for services and equipment.
