Surgical Assistant II - Full-time, ASAP (Oral/Dental Surgery)
Laurel, MD 20708

Established, award-winning practice currently has an opening for a Full-time Dental Assistant ll or Surgical Assistant II (RDA) to work Monday to Friday in joining our oral surgery center team in Laurel, MD 20708 to provide diligent oral surgery assistant to support our oral surgeon before, during, and after each dental procedure, & patients and a tight-knit part of our team - Benefits start immediately (full Benefits/Perks list below)


PAYRANGE: $23.52/hr - $28/hr (based on experience)

SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8 AM - 4: 15 PM (FT, 40 hours/week)

START: 1 to 2 weeks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program (RDA)
  • 1+ years experience as a dental assistant or surgical assistant in an oral surgery setting 
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • Dental X-ray (Pano, PA, CBCT)
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
  • Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.

Surgical Responsibilities:
  1. Proper instrument sterilization based on biohazard protocols, Autoclave operation.
  2. Surgical tray set-up, identification of instruments used 
  3. Room set up/break down for IV anesthesia and surgery
  4. Seat patient and perform pre-op set-up, review charts
  5. Nitrous oxide set-up
  6. Proper positioning of restraints
  7. Support airway for sedated patients, monitor patients post anesthesia
  8. Understand emergency procedures and operation of emergency equipment
  9. Provide excellent patient care.
