Established, award-winning Dermatology institute currently has three FT Clinical Medical Assistant positions open, needing a minimum of 2+ years Dermatology practice experience to join as a permanent member of our tight-knit team in Fairfax. Seeking dedicated, compassionate Clinical Dermatology Assistants to provide skin, wound, & procedure support to physicians and dermatologists - to start with immediate Benefits. 3 Medical Assistants to start before March 28th


PAYRANGE: $23.09 - $27.78 per hour

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • MUST have a minimum of 2 - 3 years’experience in Dermatology practice
  • Must have recent Dermatology practice experience
  • Experience with skin procedures, wound dressing, medication administration
  • Medical Assistance program education (CMA preferred)
  • Proficiency within EMR System: EMA (Electronic Medical Assistant)

SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8a - 5p (Full-time: 40 hours/wk guaranteed)
  • Volume of patients: 50 
  • 2 to 3 MA's support each provider 
  • EMR system: EMA
  • Prepares patients for exams and procedures.
  • Assists dermatologists with exams & minor skin procedures, applying dressings, removing sutures, and changing bandages.
  • Collects skin samples and specimens for lab testing.

JOB DUTIES
  • Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vitals, test results in medical records.
  • Prepare procedure or operative rooms.
  • Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to treatment. 
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed, following protocol: right dose, right patient, right route, right drug & expiration date.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, wound care, and physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Collect skin samples & specimens for lab testing.
  • Assist dermatologist during exams and procedures: Handing instruments and materials over, providing injections, & removing sutures.
  • Assistance with minor skin procedures i.E. Applying dressings, wound care, sutures removal, and changing bandages.

Requirements
  • Experience in a Dermatology Clinical setting for at least 2 to 3 years, recently, i.E. Internal medicine.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, sterile technique, anatomy, & medications.
  • Patient & detail-oriented, independent, reliable.
  • Adept in medication administration.
  • Understanding of medical-surgical protocols.
  • Strong patient service skills, ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of EMR system EMA for managing patient records.
  • Ability respond to patient needs promptly.
  • Familiarity with inhalation therapies is a plus but not required
  • High School Diploma, Medical Assistance degree 
  • CMA Certification preferred (Certified or Clinical Medical Assistant)
