CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Job Description:
Performs HVAC installations in residential and commercial properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with certain disabilities to perform the essential job functions when safety is not compromised. A 90-day initial review period applies to Technicians during which time Bell Mechanical Services will determine the technician’s suitability for the job.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional and technical material. Ability to write applicable reports and correspondence clearly. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and supervisors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiarity with basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs is helpful but not required;however Technicians must possess the capability to learn these applications.
Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude and acting in harmony with fellow employees.
Interacting and communicating with customers and builders in a proper, professional, and business-like manner at all times with desire to exceed customer expectations.
TRANSPORTATION TO JOB SITES:
Technicians will be provided with company transportation for job usage. Technicians are required to maintain the company vehicle in good working order. Technicians must also maintain a valid driver’s license as required by state laws. Technicians are personally responsible for all traffic violations, moving and non-moving, received while in Company vehicle. If an employee receives a moving traffic violation, the employee must enroll in a Defensive Driving Course at their own expense.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS:
Technicians must be ready to accept job assignments at any time to accommodate customers, and must be willing to work on an on-call basis. Technicians need to have a cell phone or the ability to obtain one as the job requires. Technicians must keep cell phones on them at all times when on duty except when it is not allowed or prohibited due to safety regulations at work sites. Attendance at monthly safety meetings is required. Technicians must call office after each service call, and before 1st call of the day.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

JOB DESCRIPTION
CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Job Description:
Performs HVAC installations in residential and commercial properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Read and understand all job and safety requirements.
- Install heating, ventilation, and cooling units for both residential and commercial customers.
- Verify all equipment has been properly installed according to state and local codes.
- Work safely in the presence of compressed gases as defined in the appropriate Safety Data Sheets.
- Accurately and promptly perform related calculations;complete required reports and forms clearly and promptly.
- Travel to job sites in service area and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated.
- Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis as scheduled, to meet the needs of our customers.
- Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary and reporting any mechanical issue. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis. Report upcoming expiration of inspection tags.
- Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in vehicle. Technicians are responsible for providing their own tools to perform job. Some equipment is issued by Company.
- Participate in company provided training opportunities.
