Medical Billing Compliance Specialist, Medical Billing Analyst, Compliance Auditor Billing Compliance Specialist or Auditor - Direct Hire - REMOTE (DFW local required)

Full-time Direct Hire opportunity open for a dedicated Billing Compliance Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team - Moves into REMOTE after 2-3 weeks of onsite Training @ Dallas Corporate site (MUST BE LOCAL TO DFW for Training & monthly onsite meetings - required)
The Billing Compliance Specialist will audit, monitor, & educate all providers at the practice;Handle coding and related claims edits/denials, audit and report to management all discrepancies in claims billing, comparing what was billed to contract parameters, as well as compare what was paid. Determines if claims are billed and paid timely based on contracts as well as determine if interest is due from the Payer. Reports findings to RCM mgmt on weekly/monthly basis.

SHIFT
: Mon to Fri, 7: 30a –3: 30p (Full-Time, 40 hours/week)

PAY: $25.17/hr - $30/hr (Based on experience)
  • REMOTE - Moves into fully Remote role after 2 - 3 weeks of Onsite Training at office in Dallas (Must live in DFW to attend onsite meetings each month)
EXPERIENCE & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:        

1. Must have Certified Professional Coder "CPC Certification" from AAPC (national board of professional coders), OR:

2. "CPC-A (Apprentice) Certification", an apprentice who has passed the CPC exam with 1 year experience as an Apprentice coder, but hasn't yet completed the 2 full years of experience required to gain their final CPC Certification
  • Will accept CPCA Apprentices within first year;CPC-A's need at least 1 year experience (REQUIRED)
  • AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification (national board of professional coders)
3. Minimum of 5 years experience in compliance, coding, auditing, and professional medical claims

4. Prior experience working with physicians - (portion of this role will be educating our physicians on billing)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. 1) Claims Auditing –40%
    1. Monitors the day to day adherence to quality standards based on guidelines set by DNA RCM Management and payer contracts.
    2. Reviews quality of work done by Claims staff.
    3. Review and evaluate the accuracy of the Collector’s claim decisions. Identify any inconsistent and/or inaccurate benefit and policy usage.
    4. Review, update, and disseminate regulatory and internal procedures for area employees
    5. Review and assess claims reporting mechanisms and assist in determining system inaccuracies.
    6. Audit Indigent program to ensure policies are met and accurate data is gathered to make decision for assistance.
  2. 2) Report Findings - 15%
    1. Maintain statistical data tracking quality and production totals. Analyze trends and submit monthly reports to RCM Management.
    2. Conduct training needs analysis and work with managers to develop group and/or individualized training to correct developmental and performance issues.
    3. Compile findings in spreadsheet for and present to management and team members on a weekly basis.
    4. Assists in the development of Credentialing Policies & Procedures. Ii.Other duties as assigned.
  3. 3) Collections –7%
    1.  Assist with claims resolution and collection processes
SOFTWARE USAGE:
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- EMR (Electronic Medical Records): Epic
