Job Description
Shipper
We are currently searching for an Shipper to be based out of Springfield, Missouri. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this person will be responsible for safely loading finished product onto freight carriers. Backup for Material Handler, as needed. Responsible for complying with all DOT requirements and regulations with a Class A Driver s License, including tanker and air brake endorsements.
What you'll do:
Reviews daily shipping pick lists to determine finished products being shipped that day.
Uses forklift to move finished product to the staging area, if required.
Able to plan and organize the staging of products to efficiently meet loading onto freight carriers.
Confirms load shipment with freight carrier driver and loads finished products onto the freight carrier.
Reviews pick list for the following day and stages finished product for the next day.
Checks the yard to ensure the area is neat and clean.
Assists the production line with duties as time allows.
Performs essential job functions of the Material Handler when required.
Follows all safety requirements for this position and all company safety guidelines, including all DOT regulations.
Must comply with all DOT regulations and requirements in compliance with Class A commercial license.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What you'll bring:
High school Diploma or GED
1-2 years of experience performing the essential functions listed above
Ability to perform simple math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and take measurements.
Ability to drive a forklift and must have a valid driver s license
Must display very good organization and time management skills
Must be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Must have a clean driving record and a valid, current Class A commercial driver s license
Within 3 months, you ll:
Complete any required training
Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
Be well-versed in client's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
